Great news for all Rainier families! The post library located at the corner of 10th and Pendleton Avenue is now open on Saturdays from Noon-5 p.m. Weekday hours have also been extended!  The Grandstaff Memorial Library/Book Patch Children’s Library is now open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.           

Sign your children up for Book Patch’s Winter Reading Program “Hibernate With a Good Book.” This event for children ages 2 through 8th grade begins on December 2 and ends on January 3. Activities and prizes are included.           

Monthly activities held at Book Patch include the Mudspots and Robots Boys Club, the SuperGirls Club, Lego Club, and STEAM Makerspace. There is a weekly Kinder-Ready Storytime for children ages 3-5 on Tuesdays at 10:30-11:30 a.m.  This storytime focuses on developing essential skills to prepare children for kindergarten. Make a few trips as an entire family to Grandstaff/Book Patch during the sixteen days of winter break. Take a good look around and ask questions about resources and programs available. This library provides for the interests and needs of every member in your family!
