Welcome to November! I’ve been enjoying the amazing fall colors this year, the sunny fall days and crisp mornings.

All grades finished a bullying prevention unit this past month. It is important for kids to know and understand what bullying is and isn’t. Not all mean behavior is bullying. I’ve found it helpful to distinguish between mean moments, conflict and bullying when talking with students. Sometimes younger students will confuse a mean moment with bullying. With mean moments I try to give students strategies to respond to their peers when this happens.

Mean Moment: one-time, hurtful, on purpose and one-sided
Conflict: occasionally, hurtful, on purpose, both parties involved
Bullying: repeatedly, hurtful, on purpose, one sided
In November we remember the service of our Veterans and celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am very grateful to work with your children each day. Please contact me with any way I can help.
