Technology in the classroom

It’s wonderful to see the sunshine interspersed with the clouds a little and daffodil, tulip, and hyacinth bulbs begin to peek out from under the soil. Spring is making its way to the Pacific Northwest! Hip-hip—hurraayyy!!!
K: Students are moving onto the next step (password) in logging onto the CPSD computer system. They are making the capital “P” which requires them to move the cursor to the 2nd row of the login box – clicking – holding down the Shift Key and tapping the “P” key once. Many are completing the task successfully and are able to log in and access Starfall during their Technology session time frame. KEEP practicing on those Practice Keyboard Cards at home, Kinders.

4th – 5th: Prior to beginning the SBA practice tests – students are getting a brief introduction on Digital Citizenship & Internet Safety through activities on Digital Passport; https://www.digitalpassport.org/ The games help students navigate through situations concerning personal privacy, Internet searches, and security issues.
In addition, students have worked on a new animated story typing activity in Typing Club titled Going Solo. As students correctly retype the storyline, a melody softly plays, while a mistake shuts the music off, only to begin again once students are typing.
