Throughout the month of May and during the SBA testing sessions, K – 5 students will receive lessons on Digital Citizenship.  Digital Citizenship pertains to the appropriate and responsible behavior we should all practice when using technology and the Internet.  Topics include:  Internet Safety, Social Media, and Cyber Bullying.

In addition, grades 4 and 5 have been working on activities found in Digital Passport.  A web-based program that is sponsored by Commonsense Media.  Students may access Digital Passport at home via a web browser and typing in the search box - Digital Passport

All websites and materials are selected for age-appropriateness according to grade level.  Below are the foremost sites used: 

Commonsense Media:  An organization that provides unbiased information and educational materials for parents, teachers, and others who are interested and concerned about helping students know how to be smart and safe when using technology and the Internet.

NSTeens (part of NetSmartz® Workshop, a program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children®.):  An organization that makes available age-appropriate resources, interactive comics, and short videos to inform and teach kids how to be safe on and offline.
